18 weeks!!

What a hectic week at work. Time is just flying by...

I still haven't felt the bean kicking, but I'm pretty sure I felt some movement in there this week. Hopefull soon I will feel some full-fledged karate in there.

Here's the weekly update...

Your baby is twice as big as he was last month, but he still weighs only about 225 grams. Meanwhile, most of the weight you've gained is from amniotic fluid, placenta and water retention. Although things may seem calm on the surface, your little one is kicking, flexing, reaching, rolling, and even sucking his thumb now. If you haven't felt him move yet, you will in the next few weeks. His hearing is now functioning and he will be listening to your heartbeat

17 weeks!! (and a bit)

I can't believe I forgot to post my weekly update last thursday. You see? That pregnancy brain is really getting to me! Actually I was busy packing and being all excited for our weekend trip to the US. Kyle, Laura, and I went down across the border on Friday and met mom & dad at the Skagit. We went to the Casino, lost a bit of money and did a whole lot of shopping. Kyle and I bought a "Nursery in a Box" - which is a crib, change table and dresser. I'm so excited to get started on the nursery!! After waiting in a 2 hour line at the border last night, we are back home now, and I'm going to start my Christmas gift wrapping shortly.

Well, here is the weekly status report, a few days late.....

Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and he's around 5 inches long. He can move his joints, and his skeleton — until now rubbery cartilage — is starting to harden to bone. His sense of hearing is also developing. The umbilical cord, his lifeline to the placenta, is growing stronger and thicker.

Oh yes, and I did get the doppler just over a week ago, and have been using it every few days to listen to the bean. Kyle and I didn't know how to use it at first and we thought we found 3 different heartbeats down there!! But than we figured out that only one was a heartbeat and the other noises were my own blood being pumped to the baby.. We have our ultrasound coming up on November 29th and I'll definatley share some pictures on here.

16 Weeks!!

Time is flying!

I had an appointment with my doc on Monday and I got to hear the bean's heartbeat! It was music to my ears because I've been seriously feeling like there's no baby inside me! Besides the growing stomache and disappearing waistline, I haven't really had any symptoms lately, so I'm feeling much less "preggo" than the first few months. Anyhow, I love hearing my bean SO much that I decided to rent myself a doppler for a month so I can listen to it whenever I want! I'm so excited, it should be getting delivered tomorrow!

I've been shopping online looking at different crib bedding sets. There are so many to choose from and they are so much more expensive than I had anticipated! Anyhow, I found one that I am in LOVE LOVE LOVE with, but it's for a girl. Funny thing is, almost all my family think it's a boy, but several of my friends think it's a girl. What do you guys think?? You see that comment link at the bottom of these posts? It's available for you to leave a comment! Sometimes I wonder if anybody is even reading this blog. Anyhow, if you have a feeling about the sex, leave a comment. I think it's a girl. Kyle thinks I am definatley wrong and that it's a boy.

As always, here's the weekly status report...

At 4 1/2 inches long (head to bottom) and 3 1/2 ounces, your baby is about the size of an avacado. In the next three weeks, she'll go through a tremendous growth spurt, doubling her weight and adding inches to her length. The patterning of her scalp has begun, though her hair isn't recognizable yet. Although closed, her eyes are moving (slowly), and she's even started growing toenails. Her fingernails and toenails will continue to grow, so don't be surprised if she needs them trimmed after birth.

15 Weeks!!

I can't believe how fast the time is flying by. I'm just dying to feel my little bean moving around in there, I haven't felt anything yet, but it should be soon! I have a doctor's appointment on Monday and I'm really hoping that we get to hear the heartbeat on the doppler this time. Last time, the damn thing's batteries died! I'm also patiently waiting for my belly to "pop" so that I actually look pregnant to other people and not just fat! Here is the weekly bean status report.
At around 4 inches long, crown to rump, your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 ounces, about the size of an apple. He's busy inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid, which will help the air sacs in his lungs develop. Sweat glands are appearing, and although his eyelids are fused shut, he can sense light. If you were to shine a flashlight at your tummy, he'd most likely move away from the beam. If you're scheduled for an ultrasound in the coming weeks (most women have one between 16 and 20 weeks), you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl !
